KITA (UMEDA) Area, one of OSAKA's main shopping and entertainment districts

The Umeda district, one of OSAKA’s main shopping and entertainment districts, is called “”Kita”” in OSAKA.
There are an array of trendy shops and stores in KITA, including department stores near JR Osaka Station, adding a jazzy atmosphere to the area.
There are also a lot of restaurants in KITA, where you can enjoy shopping and gourmet meals.

MINAMI (NAMBA in OSAKA)

MINAMI (NAMBA) Area, a major shopping and entertainment district on par with KITA

“NAMBA and SHINSAIBASHI, the shopping and entertainment districts on par with “”KITA,”” are called “”MINAMI.””
In contrast to KITA, which is a modern and trendy area of OSAKA with a lot of large-scale shopping malls, MINAMI, located around Namba Station, is an area where you can feel the local people’s sympathy and care.
Take a Rapid Express on the Hanshin Namba Line from Hanshin Amagasaki Station and get off at Kintetsu Osaka Namba Station (traveling time: about 15 min), and you are already in MINAMI.
(The Hanshin Namba Line and the Kintetsu Nara Line connect to each other.)

ABENO and TENNOJI

ABENO and TENNŌJI Area - South Entrance to Osaka

The area is the largest shopping and entertainment district next to KITA and MINAMI. The area has many sight-seeing spots including ABENO HARUKAS, the tallest building in Japan, and the Tsutenkaku (the symbol tower of OSAKA), which means “”Tower Reaching Heaven,”” as well as TENNŌJI Park, TENNŌJI Zoo, and Shitenno-ji Temple, one of the seven temples established by Prince Shotoku.
Take the Hanshin Namba Line from Hanshin Amagasaki Station, get off at Nishikujō Station (about 5 min by Rapid Express), and transfer to the JR Osaka Loop Line (Inner Loop) and get off at Tennōji Station (about 13 min)

World-famous movie theme park

The theme park features popular attractions based on movies.
You can feel and experience various worlds of famous movies.
This theme park is highly recommendable to those who have not yet visited here as well as those who have. Take the Hanshin Namba Line from Hanshin Amagasaki Station, get off at Nishikujō Station (about 5 min by RAPID EXPRESS), and transfer to JR YUMESAKI Line and get off at Universal City Station (about 4 min).

Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

One of the largest aquariums in the world

The Kaiyukan is one of the largest aquariums in the world, reproducing 10 ocean regions from around the Pacific Rim by using 14 tanks centering on the Pacific Ocean tank where the world’s largest fish “”whale shark”” swims. Take the Hanshin Namba Line from Hanshin Amagasaki Station, get off at Kujo Station (about 9 min by Rapid Express), and transfer to the Subway Chuo Line, and get off at Osakako Station (about 6 min).

Kyocera Dome OSAKA

The stadium full of passion and excitement

This dome-shaped stadium hosts not only professional baseball games, but also various big events, concerts by famous artists, and exhibitions. Take the Hanshin Namba line from Hanshin Amagasaki Station, get off at Dome-Mae Station and you are right there! (About 10 minutes by RAPID EXPRESS)

TERAMACHI in AMAGASAKI

Temple district with an array of important cultural properties

Teramachi – the name literally means “”temple district”” – was built by gathering together the temples scattered in and around the town at the time AMAGASAKI Castle was constructed in 1617. Miraculously spared from damage during the Second World War, Teramachi retains rows of old temples and houses reminiscent of 17th-century Japan. It is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Cross the street that runs along the west side of HANSHIN AMAGASAKI Station and walk south until you come across a group of temples on the right-hand side.
The district to the west of this spot is Teramachi. Explanatory signboards are placed outside each temple.
Strolling around the district and reading the explanations of 11 temples, which are home to many important cultural properties, is highly recommended especially for history buffs.

AMAGASAKI Sports Forest

Large-scale all-season sports complex

The AMAGASAKI Sports Forest complex has many different types of sports facilities including swimming pools, one of which satisfies international competition standards; an ice skating rink (in winter only); futsal (indoor soccer) courts with lighting facilities for night games; gym facilities; and recreational pools (in summer only). Sports facilities can be used by both individuals and sports teams and organizations.

Koshien Stadium

The Mecca of Japanese baseball

Koshien Stadium is famous throughout Japan as the home of professional baseball team, the Hanshin Tigers, and also as the venue of the Senior High School Baseball Championship held in spring and summer.
It also accommodates events such as sports meetings other than baseball games, and concerts. To get to the stadium, take a Limited Express from Hanshin Amagasaki Station and get off at Koshien Station (traveling time: 5 minutes).
The stadium is a short walk from the station.

KidZania Koshien

Recommendable to customers with children

KidZania Koshien is an amusement park where children are the main players and can experience various jobs.
All facilities in the park are designed to fit children’s body sizes, and children can enjoy “”real”” job experiences.
As reservation is basically required, you need to book in advance. 5 minutes by LIMITED EXPRESS from Hanshin Amagasaki Station to Hanshin Koshien Station and then 5 minutes on foot.

TAKARAZUKA Grand Theater

The home of the Takarazuka Revue Company

The Takarazuka Grand Theater is the base and performance venue of the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female musical theater troupe, which remains a perennial favorite in Japan.
Many musical performances are given almost throughout the year. It is about a 40 minute bus ride from Hanshin Amagasaki Station.

Kobe Kitano Ijinkan Area

One of the tourist spots representative of Kobe full of exoticism

The Ijinkan area is an iconic Kobe attraction.
In the area remain more than a dozen of old Western style mansions, as Ijinkan, once inhabited by foreign residents from the early Meiji period.
Today, the streets in the area are lined with a variety of refined shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars, making the district a favorite among both locals and tourists. To get to the area, take a LIMITED EXPRESS from Hanshin Amagasaki Station and get off at Hanshin Railway Sannomiya (traveling time: 23 minutes). The area is a 10-minute walk north of the station.

Kobe Motomachi Chinatown (Nankinmachi)

One of the three largest Chinatowns in Japan - Nankinmachi in Kobe

Along with the Chinatowns in YOKOHAMA and NAGASAKI, KOBE’s Nankinmachi is known as one of the three biggest Chinatowns in Japan.
Located in a block on the south side of JR MOTOMACHI Station, it has about 100 shops.
Here you can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine or go shopping for a variety of Chinese everyday goods. The Chinatown is a 5-minute walk from Hanshin motomachi Station.

Mt. Rokko

Million-dollar night views

The breathtaking night view from Mt. Rokko is described as a million-dollar view. If the weather is fine, you can enjoy the panoramic night vista from the Kii Channel in the east to the Akashi Channel in the west.
On the top of mountain there are an array of great attractions, especially for families and couples, including an artificial ski slope, lookout, and rope course-like sports facilities. To get to Mt. Rokko, take a LIMITED EXPRESS from Hanshin Amagasaki Station, get off at Mikage Station (traveling time: 19 minutes), and transfer to a Bus bound for Rokkosan (Mt. Rokko).

Todai-ji Temple

A World Heritage Site known for the Great Buddha of NARA

Todai-ji was founded in the 8th century during the NARA period, although most of the current temple buildings are reconstructions from the Edo period.
The temple’s world-renowned Statue of the Great Buddha – a huge bronze statue of the seated Vairocana – is housed in the Daibutsuden (Great Buddha Hall) and is designated as a national treasure. To get to Todai-ji Temple, take a City Loop Bus from Kintetsu Nara Station and get off at the “Daibutsuden Kasuga-taisha-mae” stop.

Kofuku-ji Temple

NARA landmark famous for statue of the deity Asura

Kofuku-ji has historical connections with Fujiwara no Kamatari, the founder of the Fujiwara clan, and his son Fujiwara no Fuhito.
It is also well known as the home of many national treasures including the Eastern Golden Hall, five-storied pagoda, Northern Octagonal Hall, and three-storied pagoda. The temple is a 7-minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station.

Kasuga-taisha Shrine

Tutelary shrine of the Fujiwara in NARA Park

Kasuga-taisha enshrines the tutelary deity of the ancient and powerful Fujiwara clan and also has historical connections with Kofuku-ji Temple.
The shrine complex is located in NARA Park. To get to Kasuga-taisha Shrine, take a city loop bus from Kintetsu Nara Station and get off at the “Daibutsuden Kasuga-taisha-mae” stop.

NARA Park

Located at the foot of Mt. Wakakusa, NARA Park is renowned for its free-roaming deer

NARA Park covers a huge area of 660 hectares at the foot of Mt. Wakakusa in NARA city.
It is home to an array of cultural assets including Kofuku-ji Temple, Todai-ji Temple, Kasuga-taisha Shrine, and the NARA National Museum.
The park is famous for its hundreds of semi-tame deer which roam freely. NARA Park is a 5-minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station.

Himeji Castle

National treasure "Himeji Castle"

Himeji Castle was constructed in the early Edo period.
It still retains its original keep, turrets, and other features, and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
To get to Himeji Castle, take a Direct LIMITED EXPRESS from Hanshin Amagasaki Station and get off at Sanyo-Himeji Station.

Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge

The world's longest suspension bridge

At 3,911 meters long, the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge is the world’s longest suspension bridge.
On the Kobe side, the Maiko Kaijo Promenade observatory below the bridge is a great place to check out the view.
At nearby Maiko Beach, you will find the Bridge Exhibition Center, which provides a good introduction to the technology used for the construction of the huge bridges. To get to the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, take a Direct LIMITED EXPRESS from Hanshin Amagasaki Station and get off at Sanyo-Maiko Station.
